Christopher Owens who was given his first guitar by a former Fleetwood Mac member is one of the San Francisco based Duo Girls. He and Chet White where showing up in Vienna to perform their highly praised second album “father, son, holy ghost”. Both connected through a major interest in Punk and Noise music it surprises somehow when now listening to Girls catchy lo-fi, indie pop tunes. But still hard to classify they do more than innocent appearing retro sound. For some related to Elvis Costello and the Beach Boys they still stand out with a unique twist on their music (believing to pitchfork) . Maybe it´s Owens fragile voice which stays in the center of Ballads and psychedelic rock songs singing from the darker moments in love and life.
